Grievance – Complaint

How to raise a concern with the bank, or escalate it to the Banking Ombudsman.

Anyone with a grievance against a bank or a banking scheme can approach the Banking Ombudsman, filing with the office that has jurisdiction over the branch involved. A written complaint should clearly state your name and address, the branch's name and address, the facts of the complaint, and the nature and extent of any loss — supported by documents where possible.

Online Complaint with the Banking Ombudsman

  1. Go to cms.rbi.org.in (opens in new tab).
  2. Click "File Complaint."
  3. Select the Banking Ombudsman office covering the branch involved.
  4. Enter your complaint details and submit.

You'll receive a reference number and a downloadable PDF copy of your complaint. The Ombudsman is required to provide a resolution within 30 days.

Complaint by Email

  1. Download the Complaint Form (PDF) (opens in new tab).
  2. Fill it in, clearly describing the nature of your complaint.
  3. Submit it to your branch's head, or email it to complaint@baghat.bank.in.
